Devine Charity Home raises $360 000
August 2009
Blue Lotus Energy Rating is delighted with the sale of the Devine Charity Home at Moorookyle, Tarneit. $360 000 was raised through the sale, with proceeds benefiting the AFL Foundation, the Cerebral Palsy Education Centre, the Melbourne City Mission, Bayley House, the Salvation Army, and Reach. Blue Lotus provided its energy rating services free of charge for this worthy cause.
Updates to building regulations and the switch to FirstRate5
August 2009
As of May 2009, the updated Building Code of Australia (BCA) requires the mandatory use of second generation house energy assessment software. In line with these changes, Blue Lotus will be using FirstRate5 to complete House Energy Assessments. Although FirstRate5 ratings will take more time to complete, due to the program's complex nature, assessments will be far more accurate. Blue Lotus Energy Rating is fully accredited to provide FirstRate5 energy assessments.

Blue Lotus now provides electronic documentation with all energy assessments

We are now committed to providing electronic documentation for all energy assessments. This process will provide our clients with a set of electronic documents that can be easily forwarded on to building surveyors and relevant parties. It also helps to reduce everyone’s paper consumption. However, we are happy to provide hardcopies on request.
New Business Name & Faces

After 9 years Julie Forrester – House Energy Rating is changing it’s name, and adding new faces.
Krista Reichert has been contributing for over 5 years and is now a full partner in the new business called Blue Lotus Energy Rating Pty Ltd.
This change won’t have any real impact on our established and valued clients, but it reflects the way that our business has grown over the years with your loyal support. A big thank you to all of you for all the referrals over the years. We look forward to continuing to provide you with the service you need - and for those people you recommend to us.
Evan Granger is a new member of the team, working hard behind the scenes to keep the business running smoothly.
